(HEAD)
Application
The
program HEAD is intended for calculation
of temperatures of gas and walls and first
passage time of a thermal equilibrium
in the atomising camera. Production of
powders and shot by atomising of liquid
metal into drops by various methods is
realised in atomising chamber. In order
to design such chambers it is necessary
to know temperatures of gas and its walls
to choose the right method of their cooling.
During the work of the program the dynamic
and heat-physical interaction of metal
drops spray with gas and with atomising
camera walls are modelled. Walls with
enclosing cooling liquid or gas mediums
are also modelled.The program allows to
make calculations taking into account
the flow rate of liquid metal and gas
(for gas atomising process), sizes of
drops, properties of metal and gas, form
and sizes of the atomising chamber, method
of powder unload from the camera.
Calculation basis
Dynamic and heat-physical interaction of
spray of drops with gas medium and walls
of the atomising chamber with gas medium
of the camera and environment is modelled
in the program.
During the program development the authors
used known heat-physical and physical-chemical
equations, and also some original solutions
obtained by the authors from the theoretical
analysis and experimental researches of
interaction of moving drops with gas medium.
